DO YOU OFFER A SLIDING SCALE?
For psychotherapy services only, there are a limited number of reduced-fee weekly appointments (based on financial hardship). Please contact Sharon to discuss further.
At this time, sliding scale is not available for LENS Neurofeedback or Photobiomodulation services.
DO YOU TAKE COMMERCIAL INSURANCE?
No, we do not bill commercial insurance directly.
If you have an insurance plan that includes coverage for out-of-network providers, we are happy to supply you with monthly invoices (called superbills) that you can submit for reimbursement. Check with your plan directly to verify your coverage.
You may be asked for the CPT code in order to verify reimbursement rate; the CPT code for the Initial Intake is 90791 and the CPT code for 53-minute individual therapy sessions is 90837.
Many insurance plans do not cover Neurofeedback. If you would like to check your coverage, the CPT code is 90901.

HOW OFTEN WILL I SEE YOU?
Psychotherapy: Sharon typically sees individual clients once per week or every other week. A discussion will be had at the initial session and it will be determined as a team what makes sense for your goals, where you are at in your healing, and how you best process.
LENS Neurofeedback: Typically people begin with once per week sessions. Effectiveness is not determined by frequency of the sessions, although, people will experience faster change if attended weekly than less often. Expect somewhere between 12-20 sessions on average.
DO YOU SEE FAMILIES, COUPLES OR CHILDREN?
Psychotherapy: Sharon does not see families, couples, adolescents or children for psychotherapy. She helps adult individuals clean up their side of the street, so to speak.
Sharon would be happy to share some referrals with you for local family, couples or child therapists that she knows and trusts, if that would be helpful.
LENS Neurofeedback: We welcome babies, children, and adolescents as well as adults, and animals (horses and dogs at this time).
HOW WILL I KNOW IF YOU'RE THE RIGHT THERAPIST FOR ME?
This is a very important question. You are dedicating time and resources and want to be sure you are picking the right person. You should consider logistical factors (such as location and availability) as well as personal factors (Sharon’s training and expertise, personality, and ‘the feel’ you get). Don’t forget to think about financial factors, too.
An initial phone conversation should be able answer some of these questions – if you’re not sure what to ask, here is a great article that gives suggestions of what to ask.
Sometimes you have to meet with someone before you truly have a feel for the person. The first couple of sessions can continue to inform your decision and we can talk about any ongoing reservations or concerns you might have.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE I FEEL BETTER?
Therapy:
Well, the answer is: it depends. We can’t tell you how long it will take for you to feel better. Overwhelmingly, people who put effort into healing outside of sessions get better faster than those who don’t.
We encourage everyone to do what helps them heal – that can range from mindfulness practice, spending time with trusted people, getting an emotional support animal, yoga, listening to podcasts, reading books, setting healthy boundaries, seeing other complementary practitioners to name a few.
We realize we are not the end-all-be-all for everyone and there is so much information out there! We love it when a client teaches us something new!
LENS Neurofeedback:
From the very first session, your brain should be making changes toward better functioning. Some people will be able to discern the changes and others may not.
Depending on the issues, using complementary therapies along with neurofeedback enhances the changes. Examples of good partnerships with LENS are psychotherapy, cranial sacral, acupuncture, homeopathy, qi gong, and mindfulness practice to name a few.
DO YOU OFFER TELEHEALTH?
Yes. Secure video appointments are available for psychotherapy. We do not offer remote neurofeedback sessions.
CAN I SCHEDULE ONLINE?
Current clients can use the online portal to schedule sessions at their convenience 24/7.

WHAT IS A GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE FOR SERVICES?
Under the No Surprises Act effective January 1, 2022, We are required to give a Good Faith Estimate for Health Care Services.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
